Slow Tours delights prospective holidaymakers with delicious preview of June 2016 Bordeaux Tour in Lindes Lane Wine Bar

Around 15 Slow Tours friends joined Director Carol Haslam and a very special guest on the morning of Saturday 27 February 2016 for a complimentary ‘taster’ of the delights awaiting travellers on her upcoming Bordeaux Tour.

Held in the intimate,French Resistance-themed surrounds of the underground Lindes Lane Wine Bar in Adelaide’s CBD, the group enjoyed an indulgent morning of fine wine, cheese and engaging stories of life in regional France.

Carol kicked things off with a delightful summation of her experience living in France for six years, and the great love she developed for the country, its people and their culturally rich way of life.

Segueing with a wonderful quote from Claude Terrail, owner of world-renowned Paris restaurant La Tour d’Argent—‘To be a Frenchman means to fight for your country its wine’—she then introduced guest and McLaren Vale winemaker Thomas Hardy.

A member of Australia’s most celebrated wine family—and generous donor of all wine for the Lindes Lane function—Tom will be joining the Bordeaux Tour to lead the party on a day of exclusive ‘hidden treasure experiences’ in the neighbouring region of Cognac.

Tom is known affectionately throughout Australia and France as a true character, and put a smile on every face in the room with a few remarkable stories from his ‘other life’ in Cognac, where he’s lived and worked on and off for nearly 30 years.

It was a wonderful morning for all, and left no doubt in anyone’s minds that those attending the Bordeaux Tour will indeed enjoy an experience to savour (particularly if they appreciate wine and cognac!).

Slow Tours’ Bordeaux Tour, incorporating the day in Cognac with Tom Hardy, will take place from 13 – 20 June, 2016. To learn more, or to book, visit slowtours  website.
