Around the magnificent Texel Group Nature Park

This loop hike begins in Merano, at the gateway to South Tyrol’s largest nature park, the impressive Texel Group. High above the valley, the Merano High Trail winds through a unique mountain landscape, offering stunning views of the Merano Basin, the Venosta Valley, and the Passiria Valley. The tour’s highlight is the ascent from idyllic Plan to the Eisjöchl, nearly 3,000 m (9,840 ft) above sea level, followed by a descent through pristine alpine pastures into the Senosta Valley. Each day brings new panoramas, long-distance vistas, and exciting trail sections, complemented by charming South Tyrolean huts and refreshment stops. Pause to enjoy hearty dumpling specialties or sample strudel made with Venosta apples. Along the way, experience airy gondola rides and spectacular trails on the southern side of the loop, as well as breathtaking high mountain scenery to the north. After an eventful day, unwind in the valley before effortlessly returning to the high mountains via cable car the next morning.
