Self-guided Walking Tour from Salzburg to Tyrol

From landmark to landmark you follow the Camino de Santiago trail through Salzburg’s foothills of the Alps, Bavarian Rupertiwinkl and past impressive mountain scenery into Tyrol. Salzburg with its long clerical history of Archbishops still welcomes pilgrims most cordially. Visit historic churches, walk through beautiful countryside and impressive trails and find your inner tranquillity.

Highlights:

• Excursion to the Trumer Lakes: In the north of Salzburg, water lovers are spoiled for choice. Three lakes (Obertrumer See, Mattsee and Grabensee) offer enough possibilities to take a dip.
• Crossing the border into the Rupertiwinkel: The Bavarian name ‘Rupertiwinkel’ has been given for a reason. The area is named after St. Rupert, today’s patron saint of Salzburg.   
• Gorges and waterfalls: In Unken and Waidring you hike past raging streams and rushing mountain falls.

The walking tours are easy with two longer segments to master. However these can be shortened by bus, if required. Mainly asphalted roads, forest paths and mountain trails. You walk in valleys therefore only little change of altitudes.

Arrival / Parking / Departure:

• By train to Salzburg and by bus to the ‚Trumer Lakes, approx. 45 min
• Salzburg airport
• Car park: free hotel car park, no reservation required
• Return transfer by minibus to Salzburg or the Trumer lakes, costs EUR 199 per transfer (up to 8 persons),  reservation is necessary, to be paid for in advance.

• On this particular walking tour you have the option of bringing your 'four-legged friend'. When booking, simply let us know the breed and size of your dog. Possible additional costs are payable locally on site.
