8-day Self-guided Walking Tour Garmisch to Innsbruck

The mountains of Bavaria and the Tyrol are home of some of the most spectacular scenery of the Alps. Gorges and deeply cut valleys lead up to alpine pastures and intimidating summits of Wetterstein and Karwendel massif. During this trekking tour you can expect stunning views, surrounded by ragged peaks. There is an almost unbelievable number of summits, high altitude paths and rustic alpine cabins. You cross National Park Karwendel up to the Northern Chain, where you finally glide down into the valley to Innsbruck by cable car.

• Impressive ridge and mountain trails: The daily tours run through imposing gorges and dizzying heights. Vast views of the surrounding mountains are guaranteed!
• Karwendel National Park: It’s difficult to make a choice. Countless beautiful places and hiking trails are in the Karwendel. Whether the Großer Ahornboden, the Gleirschklamm or the Hafelekar, let yourself be enchanted by the mountain panorama of Tyrol.
• King Ludwigs Schachen Castle: From the outside it’s rather simple, but the castle houses splendid rooms inside. Be amazed!

Demanding trekking tour with walking stages from 4.5 to 7.5 hours. Partly in high alpine territory therefore experience, surefootedness and a good head for heights is required. Some shortcuts are available.

• Parking: Hotel parking spaces or hotel garage, costs approx. EUR 5 bis EUR 15 per day. Free parking at the ice stadium or at Wittelsbacher Park P1 (note event times)
• Departure by train from Innsbruck to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, duration approx. 1.5 hours with 1 change in Mittenwald
