Canal du midi 7-day Luxury Barge Tour (ATH)
Stay for a week in one of five comfortable air-conditioned cabins with full ensuite facilities. For your relaxation, the barge has a spacious sun deck where you can enjoy the passing countryside, plus bikes if you prefer to explore the towpath. A delicious cuisine of Provencale and Mediterranean specialities of the region and a great selection of French wines produce some memorable dining experiences.
This canal is a UNESCO World heritage site, defined by its beauty lined with shady plane trees, canalside villages, and crossed by pretty, arched bridges. A perfect place for cycling or walking along the towpath, or watching the scenery as you drift by.

Argeliers.
Guests are met at the designated meeting point in Beziers and transferred to the barge mooring at Argeliers. A champagne welcome with Mediterranean canapes awaits you. After time to settle in a sumptuous 4-course dinner prepared by a highly acclaimed on board Chef will be served.
Argeliers to La Croisade.
Enjoy breakfast in a comfortable chair on the open upper deck. Then an excursion takes you to the medieval walled city of Carcassonne with a knowledgeable tour guide to tell of its history. Time to shop before heading back for a gourmet lunch. The afternoon cruise takes us to our mooring at La Croisade, with plenty of opportunity to walk or cycle along the towpath. Dinner on board.

After breakfast, a morning excursion takes us to an olive oil press for a tasting of 'L'Oublio' organic and wholesome olives with a glass of rose. A short drive takes us up the Gorge de la Cesse and into the hilltop village of Minerve, where your guide will regale you with the harrowing tale of the Cathar siege launched at Minerve during the 13th century. After lunch relax on board as we cruise to Capestang or opt to enjoy a wine-tasting at a local chateau before returning to the barge for dinner during which you can admire the floodlit Collegiale St Etienne.
Capestang to Fonserannes.
After breakfast, an excursion to Narbonne allows time to see many of the interesting historical sites including the Via Domita, the Roman Museum and the St. Juste Cathedral and enjoy the local markets before returning on board for lunch. Relax and enjoy an afternoon cruise, walk or bike ride to Fonserannes where you will have a glorious view of Beziers and its cathedral. Dinner on board.
Fonserannes to Portiragnes.
A morning drive to the old market town of Pezenas with a knowledgeable guide will give you some background on this town’s interesting history and allow free time to browse the local artisan's shops including painters, hat makers and costume designers. After lunch the afternoon cruise takes us through the 17th century Fonserannes lock staircase and across an 18th century aqueduct over the river Orb. The paved towpath and the many locks leading to our mooring make it an ideal afternoon for walking or cycling alongside the barge. Portiragnes to Marseillan.
An early start sees the barge going through the ‘Petite Camargue’ where you may see pink flamingos, African Rollers and Bee Eaters of this region along with other local species. After passing through the exceptional 'round lock' at Agde, a spectacular seafood lunch awaits you as the barge enters the open waters of the Etang de Thau. Our mooring at Marseillan is close to the distillery of Noilly Prat where you can end a perfect day with a tour of this distillery and a taste of the Noilly Prat before the Captain’s farewell dinner on board.
