Adige river: Resia Pass to Bolzano 5-day Self-guided Cycling Tour (Level 1)
A bicycle journey along the Adige River Cycle Path, Italy's first bicycle path. From the Austrian border through the Italian-German South Tyrol you will cycle along quiet routes, past peaceful villages and picturesque little castles and cloisters, surrounded by an astonishing Dolomite Mountains landscape.
Mainly along flat roads with only a few rolling parts. The region of South Tyrol is provided with an excellently built cycle lanes system. You can ride almost exclusively on well planned, traffic free cycle lanes, part of which run along the river Adige.

Bolzano
Individual arrival. Bolzano is a famous commercial and tourist centre and also a historical and cultural connection between the Italian and the German world.
Resiapass – Silandro 50km
We will drive you to Resia up to 1500 metres of height, where your cycling tour starts. The majestic cycle lane will take you past the lake Resia and the cloister of Montemaria near Silandro.
Silandro – Merano 40km
The tour continues along the river Adige, passing through orchards and nice landmarks like the imposing Castle Dornsberg. You arrive in the beautiful city of Merano.
Merano – Bolzano 35km
Still cycling along the cycle lane you reach little towns like Nalles and Andriano and your destination, Bolzano. Take your time for a walk around the capital of the South Tyrol.

Due to organisational reasons, weather conditions or provisions issued by local authorities, the itinerary may be subject to some changes before and/or during the holiday.
Along the way you may find temporary deviations (for example road works) which cannot be foreseen. In this case each rider can decide autonomously how to deal with these stretches.

My wife absolutely loved it and said it made her feel like a teenager again! The pickup and drive up the hill was great and the driver was multilingual and friendly. The trails are mainly to a good standard and match the tyres provided and the V brakes were good enough for the task although it did not rain on us. The bikes were also prepared to a good standard with no faults that I could see and crisp gear changing. The GPX file downloaded to Komoot gave faultless navigation. The hotels were to a good standard and the Hotel Flora in Morano was amazing with a great locked bike garage and lift up to reception. The lift made it almost felt like we were in a James Bond movie. It also had nice rooms and a pool. The hotel breakfasts were great and all the towns we stayed at were nice and interesting with a good range of restaurants and bars. - September 2023
