Self-guided Tuscany Cycling Tour 5-days (Level 1)
The "express" version of our beloved bike route in Tuscany. From the Leaning Tower to the Ponte Vecchio, pedaling along a route that winds through vineyards, olive groves and an architectural heritage of historic villas and adjoining gardens that look like real works of art. A total immersion in the relaxed Tuscan countryside dotted with art cities and villages. A few examples? Lucca, Montecatini, Collodi and Pescia.
Four days on the pedals along a flat route with some hilly sections, which do not require special training. The stages are on low-traffic back roads with short dirt portions. Optional pedaling or train connections are offered on some days to shorten the routes.

Pisa
Individual arrival and overnight. The city is famous all over the world for its magic Piazza dei Miracoli with the characteristic leaning tower, the bell tower of the city cathedral. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1987, besides a large number of monuments it also offers the friendly and lively atmosphere of a university city.
Pisa – Lucca
Today’s route can be almost completely flat with an easy stage (25 km, difference in altitude +130m/-115m) that will take you northwards, cycling along the Serchio river and through the Pisan countryside until you reach the village of Ripafratta and then the city of Lucca, or a slightly longer and more challenging ride along the eastern side of the Monti Pisani and then Lake Massaciuccoli.

Lucca – Montecatini Terme
Following the cycle path of the river Serchio you will get to the base of the Lucchesia green hills. You will cycle along quiet country roads where you will have the chance to admire majestic villas. With a small effort you can reach Collodi, the town of Pinocchio, with the wonderful garden of Villa Garzoni. Afterwards you will get to the medieval hamlet of Pescia with its flower market and finally you will arrive in Montecatini, one of the most famous thermal destinations in Europe.

Montecatini – Florence
Today you have to choose either to start pedalling directly from Montecatini or to shorten the trip through a short train transfer to Pistoia (Total length 50 km, elevation gain +240m/-250m), rich in Romanesque and Renaissance monuments (in particular churches) and having one of the most evocative squares in Italy: Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square). From here back onto the saddle, to reach Florence.
