Majorca Loop Tour 8-day Self-guided Cycling Tour Level 3
Discover a side of Majorca that few visitors know—alongside its most captivating hotspots. During this eight-day loop around the Balearic Island, you’ll explore charming villages, pristine coves, picturesque harbors, and enchanting natural landscapes. Your cycling adventure begins at the wonderful Playa de Palma Beach, where you can have your first swim in the sea. Inland, you’ll pass by traditional windmills and shimmering salt flats, while along the coast, inviting sandy beaches await perfect for leisurely swim breaks. Marvel at the spectacular Dragon Caves near Porto Cristo and get to know Alcúdia, the island’s oldest town. The rugged mountain landscapes of the Sierra de Tramuntana will leave you breathless, and Port de Sóller will utterly enchant you with its timeless charm.
The stages range from easy to moderately challenging, with gentle climbs rewarded by scenic descents. A bus transfer takes you through the Tramuntana mountains, allowing you to relax and enjoy the view. The route follows bike paths, quiet side roads, and mostly paved farm tracks—carefully selected to keep traffic to a minimum.

Playa de Palma – Colònia Sant Jordi approx. 55 km
Welcome and tour briefing. Your first stage takes you along the coast toward Capocorb Vell, the land of the Cyclopes, where the remains of ancient dwellings offer a glimpse into the island’s early history. Iconic windmills line the route as you head toward the salt flats of Llevant, where shimmering pink-and-white salt lakes stretch across the landscape. The nearly white sand of Es Trenc beach—often hailed as Majorca’s most beautiful—invites you to pause and relax. In Sant Jordi, more beaches with crystal-clear waters await.
Colònia Sant Jordi – Porto Cristo/surrounding approx. 55 - 65 km
Today’s stage first takes you through Ses Salines to a beautiful botanical garden. You’ll visit the scenic cove of Cala Santanyí and pass through charming fishing villages on your way to the famous natural rock arch Es Pontàs. Near Porto Cristo, the spectacular Dragon Caves await, with their otherworldly rock formations and underground lake where a guided visit is highly recommended!
Excursion to Artá approx. 55 km
At the beginning to the typical island villages of Son Carrió and Sant Llorenc, with the 13th century church of Santa Maria del Bellver, through the picturesque hinterland of the island. Beautifully laid out paths lead to Artà. Numerous alleyways lead up the hill on which the small town was built. From the pilgrimage church of Sant Salvador, you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the surrounding coast, the hilly landscape, the almond plantations and olive groves. Cycle back along on a former railway line to Son Servera and on to the coast.
Porto Cristo/surrounding – C'an Picafort approx. 60 km
You’ll start the day at the coast, cycling through the quiet village of Son Carrió on your way to Manacor. This lively town is known for its famous Majorica pearls, showcased in shops alongside local ceramics and traditional souvenirs. From there, continue through Petra, where a typical Majorcan lunch snack awaits and on to Santa Margalida. The route takes you through some of the island’s most captivating scenery before reaching C’an Picafort, where you can unwind by the sea as the day comes to a close.
C’an Picafort – Port de Sóller approx. 45 km + bus transfer
Today you will ride along the coast to Alcudia and via Pollenca to the mountain landscape of the Sierra de Tramuntana. A transfer takes you to the Lluc monastery and further up to 1200 metres above sea level, past the large reservoirs, the water reservoir of Mallorca. The descent by bike takes you to Fornalutx, one of the ‘most beautiful villages in Spain’, where you can enjoy an excellent paella in a cosy terrace restaurant. You then cycle through orange and lemon plantations down to Port de Sóller, one of the most charming fishing villages on the island.
Port de Sóller – Playa de Palma approx. 55 km
The final cycling stage of this journey offers breathtaking views over the sea. Passing the picturesque villages of Deià and Valldemossa, you’ll follow the rugged west coast with its stunning landscapes as you head toward Palma. Take in the charm of the island’s capital one last time, wandering through its narrow streets and spacious squares, before the bike path leads you along the sandy beach back to your starting point.
