Stockholm to Copenhagen 8-Day Cycling Tour (Level 2)
A cycle tour from Stockholm to Copenhagen is ideal for cyclists who want to experience Scandinavia’s unique culture and nature up close. You start in Stockholm and visit the magnificent Drottningholm Palace before taking the train to Gothenburg and exploring the idyllic coastal route through charming towns such as Kungsbacka and Varberg. Along the Kattegat you will discover impressive landscapes and finally reach Helsingborg, where the ferry will take you to Helsingör - with a view of the famous Kronborg Castle. This varied route combines nature, culture and fascinating coastal towns and takes you directly to charming, bike-friendly Copenhagen.
Flat to slightly hilly tour course. You cycle on well sign-posted bike paths and gravel roads as well as side roads with less traffic. To some extent there are simpler trail conditions with raw gravel. Short sections are on roads with more traffic.

Stockholm
Individual arrival in Sweden’s capital. Take your first walk and visit the many sights that Stockholm has to offer.
Excursion to Drottingholm Castle, approx. 50 km
Along Lake Mälaren, Sweden’s third largest lake, you will travel to the island of Lovön, where the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Drottningholm Palace awaits you. Visit the exotic, small “China Castle”, the castle theater and the inviting castle park. Continue over bridges and along the water to Södermalm. The former working-class district is now inhabited by hipsters and designers. The old town of Gamla Stan with its cobbled alleyways, crooked houses and inviting cafés is also on your way back to Stockholm.
Stockholm – Gothenburg, train journey
After breakfast, you will travel to Gothenburg by train with your own luggage. In the afternoon, you will have time to explore various sights in Gothenburg on foot. Explore the city on a boat tour, visit the harbor with its walk-in historic ships or the Maritiman adventure museum. Garden lovers can visit the Trädgårdsföreningen park and art lovers the Gothenburg Art Museum.
Gothenburg – Kungsbacka, approx. 40-65 km
The route takes you out of the city and past Särö, the middle-class amusement park in Gothenburg in the last century. Rocks, lush forests, bays and harbors line your route. In the late afternoon you finally reach Kungsbacka, the former trading center with an impressive old town.
Kungsbacka – Varberg, approx. 60-75 km
Today’s stage takes you along various horse farms and fields. From Åsa onwards, the sea is once again at your side and accompanies you all the way to Varberg. The town welcomes you from afar with its imposing fortress. In addition to the fortress, you can also visit the Bockstensmann, a bog body from the 14th century (not included).
Varberg – Falkenberg – Helsingborg, ca. 40 km
Picturesque fishing villages and many artisans await you today. In Träslövsläge you have the opportunity to feast on freshly cooked lobster. The day’s destination is Falkenberg, one of the oldest towns in the province of Halland. You then take the train (not included) to Helsingborg, today’s destination, in approx. 90 minutes.
Helsingborg – Helsingør – Copenhagen, ca. 55 km
After breakfast, it’s just a 20-minute ferry ride to Helsingør (approx. SEK 70 per person, not included). Take your time to visit the picturesque harbor town and Kronoberg Castle before cycling to the vibrant Danish capital of Copenhagen
