Gulf of Gokova 8-day Bike and Boat Tour
The Gulf of Gökova, stretching between the historic city of Bodrum and the extremely attractive Datça-Peninsula, is a scenic gem - a highlight among our cycling tours in Turkey. Completely spared from mass tourism, it is here that Turkey shows itself from its original side and offers the best prerequisites for an unforgettable active holiday. Untamed nature with fantastic panoramas, small harbors, wonderfully clear waters and historical highlights make the Gökova Gulf a very attractive holiday destination, worth exploring by bike and boat!
The 43 x 10 m Turkish gullet, Boreas, provides utmost comfort for your yacht cruise. This ship has 15 spacious and climate controlled guest cabins with tiled bathrooms with separate shower cabins and toilet. The large saloon includes a bar, and the vast ships decks provide shaded and sunny areas to relax with plenty of comfortable seating areas and sunning mattresses.
The day-tours average of 10 – 25 mi./16 - 40 km and take you through mainly hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time-constraints. There are also some extended climbs where walking your bicycle is of course permitted. Most of the roads are asphalted and rarely frequented. Your tour guide informs you each day about the tour details. Helmet use is mandatory on all cycle tours. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own (well-fitted) helmet. Cycle helmets are available on board in limited number (on request). You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned cycle tour.
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and with a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the cycle tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bicycles is 1.50 m (5 ft.)
The on-board chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one warm meal a day. The half board starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.
There is no WiFi connection onboard. If you need to connect to the internet during the tour, we recommend to take your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts content.
This tour is conducted bilingually, in English and German.

Bodrum (Embarkation)
Individual arrival to Bodrum harbour. A collective transfer from Bodrum Airport to the harbour is available for an extra cost on request. Check in begins on the Gullet at 2 pm. Use the evening hours to enjoy the lively atmosphere in the city of Bodrum and relax with a typical Turkish tea. In the evening, a shared dinner on board can be enjoyed in the company of your travel companions and tour guides.
Bodrum – Yalıçiftlik (round tour) (aprx. 23 mi./38 km)
After breakfast we raise the anchor for a short cruise to Yaliciftlik. From here we start our first bike ride through the local pine forests to Camlik where we will have the chance to refresh ourselves with a short coffee break. We continue cycling through silver-green olive groves to the small village of Etrim. Ancestors of the Turkmen tribes continue to live semi-nomadic lives in the region. We can marvel at their fascinating hand crafts and during a lunch break at a local restaurant we can discover some local cuisine. After lunch we return to Yaliciftlik where we can enjoy a swim in the afternoon at the nearby beach, followed by dinner on board. Overnight stay in Yaliciftlik.
Yalıҁiftlik - Mazı – Akbük (aprx. 26 mi./41 km)
From Yalıҁiftlik, our bike tour takes us through the scenic natural landscapes of the hinterland and finally back to the coast to Mazı. Here, our ship awaits us for lunch and we can relax on board during the two and a half hours crossing to Akbük, a charming little harbor where we can enjoy the afternoon swimming. Dinner on board and overnight in Akbük.
Akbük – Akyaka (aprx. 19.4 mi./31 km)
A morning shuttle service will take us from Akbük to the charming mountain village of Sarnıçköy. The bike tour leads us from here to the neighboring village of Akyaka, where we can stop to admire the ancient rock tombs. This picturesque village is characterized by a pseudo-Seljuk-Ottoman architecture with significant wooden elements, unique to Turkey. This unique piece was designed by award-winning architect Nail Cakirhan. A small stroll through the village is well worth while. Dinner on board and overnight in Akyaka.
Akyaka – Ҁamlı (aprx. 21 mi./34 km)
A round trip by bike around Akyaka, will take us inland away from the coast. Enjoy the abundance of nature and solitude of this landscape before returning to Akyaka for lunch. Afterwards, we head to the picturesque Ҁamlı bay, where we can take a refreshing swim. Dinner on board and overnight in Çamli.
Ҁamlı – English Bay - Yedi adalar (aprx. 12.5 mi./20 km)
From Ҁamlı, today's bike tour takes us through small villages and fragrant pine forests to the picturesque English Bay. In this beautiful bay we can swim to our heart's content. The following passage by boat to Yedi Adalar (Seven Islands) offers us one and a half hours to relax on board and enjoy the sun and the salty sea air on our skin. Dinner on board and overnight at anchor.
Yedi Adalar – Körmen – Knidos (aprx. 26 mi./42 km)
The morning crossing takes us to Körmen on the Datça Peninsula, which we are able to discover by bike. A first ascent leads us to a height of 450 m/1.480 ft, before enjoying the descent back to the sea with a beautiful view over the Greek islands Nisyros, Tilos and Rhodes. The path ahead leads us along a scenic road along the coast before entering the suburban outskirts of Knidos. After visiting the impressive archaeological site, we spend the night in one of the most picturesque bays on the Turkish coast.
Knidos - Bodrum (Disembarkation)
After breakfast on board, enjoy the sea air during the last crossing to Bodrum. Arriving in Bodrum, it is time to say goodbye to your ship, the crew and your tour guides. Check-out and (if any) transfer to the airport and individual travel back home or extension of your holiday in Turkey.
