Carinthia represents a relaxed way of life paired with an exquisite sense for enjoyment. Just as delightful you will hike through this one of a kind region located in the South of Austria. From Villach, the gateway to the Carinthian lake paradise, you will discover the villas on Lake Wörthersee and the magnificent palace whilst walking along the Velden lakeside. Always accompanied by the mountain panorama and the Villach Alps you climb up the Pyramidenkogel, followed by one lake-highlight after another: fantastic lakeside trails along Lake Millstatt, serpentine tracks on Lake Brennsee and comfortable trails on Lake Ossiach. But not only the sparkling lakes but also the high mountain peaks await to be discovered by you: the view from the so called 'Sternenbalkon' (star balcony) situated high above Lake Millstatt and the 'Juwelenweg'-Trail through the Nock Mountains are only a few of the marvellous walking highlights.

Highlights:

• Porcia Renaissance Castle: In the 16th century, the castle was built in the style of an Italian palazzo in Spittal. Today it is one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings north of the Alps.
• Star balcony in the hiking village of Döbriach: The circular hike in Döbriach not only offers you countless hiking trails and activities to choose from. One step on the balcony and you will be overwhelmed by the sights that greet you.

Tour character: Level 1

You walk along beautiful, diverse hiking paths and trails, forest roads and forest paths. Surefootedness is required for a few narrow short rocky sections. For the hiking tours with a maximum walking time of 5 hours a good basic fitness level is sufficient. Often you have a choice between an easy and a more challenging option.
