Lake Geneva 7-day Self-guided Cycling Tour (Level 2)
Clear, blue water laps against the bow of the boat taking you to Évian-les-Bains on the southern side of Lake Geneva. A fairytale atmosphere then awaits you on the trip to Yvoire. Fancy a dip in the cool water? Or per- haps a glass of wine in one of the many lakeside restaurants? In Haute-Savoie, French joie de vivre awaits you at every turn. The diplomatic hotspot of Geneva, on the other hand, provides quite a sharp contrast and there’ll be plenty of time to explore this fascinating metropolis before you continue your journey. Well-preserved castles and elegant market towns await you on the north shore of the lake. As you ride through the Lavaux vineyards, the steel-blue water, lush green vines and snowy white peaks unfold wonderfully before you. There’s nowhere in Switzerland more beautiful than Lake Geneva.
There can be traffic around the towns, but the ride along the lake takes place mostly on quiet back roads and well-maintained cycle paths. In France, the paths are flat and easy to ride. In Switzerland, there will always be some small inclines to negotiate.
