Lycian Coast 8-day Bike and Boat Tour
We spend a week discovering the Lycian coast from Marmaris to Fethiye with a three-masted motor yacht. Our charming and stylish floating hotel is built to the highest standards. We get to know the Turkish coast and back-country with the aid of a bike. Our tour guide points out the unique natural wonders and historical cities which grace the area, allowing us to be transported back in time. Admire the famous rock cut tombs of Dalyan, which were carved into stone between 4 and 2 B.C. by the Lycian coastal inhabitants, or let yourself be mesmerized by the breathtaking Saklikent Canyon. Spend your evenings in the deserted bays and let yourself be rocked to sleep by the ocean or make the most of the pulsating night life in the port cities and their many cafes and bars.
Premium Ship (all cabins with shower/toilet) - The three mast motor-sailor ship is built as a traditional Turkish gullet. On a length between 33 to 37 m it combines pure elegance with great comfort. With high rising masts, the boat is a real eye catcher in every harbor. The salon and the guest cabins are graciously designed with gallant furnishings. The expansive ships deck provides an array of comfortable seating arrangements. A perfect setting in which to enjoy the cruise, read a book or simply to regenerate in whilst the sea breeze sooths the senses.
The trip along the Lycian Coast belongs to the most challenging of the program. The day-tours average 40 km and take you through partly hilly and mountainous terrain. There will also be extended climbs where walking your bike is of course permitted. Most of the roads are asphalted. You can set aside a whole or half-day for swimming or relaxing on board the boat whenever you want. Helmet use is mandatory on all bike tours. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own (well-fitted) helmet. Bike helmets are available on board in limited number (on request).
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and of a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the bike-tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for the bikes we provide is 4.6 ft. (1.50 m)
The on-board chef is a member of the crew and will prepare breakfast and one warm meal daily. The catering starts with dinner on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day.
There is no WiFi connection onboard. If you need to connect to the internet during the tour, we recommend to take your portable electronic device to a cafe or bar somewhere in the harbour. Free WiFi is on offer almost everywhere. If you order something to eat or drink, then you are able to use the WiFi to your hearts content.
This tour is conducted bilingually, in English and German.
If you would like to rent a bike (80 EUR) or E-Bike (180 EUR) please contact [email protected] when booking.

The first ascent takes us to a height of 450m before we head back down to the sea. On a clear day it is possible to see the Greek islands Nissyros, Tilos and Rhodes. A scenic road leads first along the coast and then through more rural areas, before taking us to Knidos. After visiting the impressive archaeological site, we stay in one of the most picturesque bays on the Turkish coast.
(Mon) Knidos – Serçe Limanı – Çiftlik (aprx. 45 km/28 mi)
In the morning we have plenty of time to relax on our way to a small bay at the peak of the Bozburun Peninsula. A secluded mountain road takes us to a mountain village located at 300m above sea level, home to a 1,500-year-old plane tree and a lively bazar that is well worth a visit. A short walk around the plane tree is said to ensure a long and lucky life. After lunch we continue to the bay of Çiftlik by bike where there is enough time to enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea.
(Tue) Çiftlik – Ekincik – Kaunos (aprx. 31 km/19 mi)
During breakfast we cross over to the little harbour of Ekincik, the starting point of today’s bike ride. After crossing the pass with its spectacular views, we reach the shore of Lake Köycegiz, where we have the opportunity to enjoy a healing mud bath close to Sultaniye. After cycling through another small pass, we reach the mouth of the Dalyan River. From here we hop on a small boat for a 30 minute cruise past the impressive Lycian rock-cut tombs overlooking the Dalyan delta to our boat which waits on anchor near a small rocky island.
(Wed) Kaunos – Dalaman – Sarsala Bay (aprx. 42 km/26 mi)
After breakfast the boat brings us close to the ancient city of Kaunos, the first destination of today’s bike tour. Once directly on the seaside and an important port town, the harbour now lies 8km from the coast. Only the ruins are silent witnesses of the former wealth of the city. After visiting the site, we continue on by bike. We cross the fertile Dalaman plains with their cotton fields and orchards and take a well-deserved break in a tea house in Dalaman. After crossing a small pass, we reach the beautiful bay of Sarsala, where we can already spot the ship from afar.

From here we continue our bike ride to Fethiye where we have the chance to extend our tour by a few kilometres: a small peninsula nearby tempts with its quiet bays and beautiful beaches, perfect for a picturesque swim stop. In the evening we can spend the time exploring the city of Fethiye with its local bazar. The old town, marked by the Eski Cami Mosque is also worth a visit, with its narrow, winding alleyways and the typical corner houses.
