Walking through Salzkammergut Alpine Pastures 

Cow Bells, Wooden Huts and tasty Alm lunches.

During this week of family walking, you will get magnificent views of Lake Wolfgang, the Tote Gebirge mountains, the Dachstein glacier and the Hohe Tauern. Occasionally, you will take a break at an Alm. Whilst there, you should try some of the many specialities like apple strudel or kaiserschmarrn. Or why not try the regional dessert from the Osterhorn mountains: “Pofesen”. The traditional Alms in the Osterhorn group to the east of Salzburg will excite the hearts of all children. In this hiking paradise, you will find numerous routes suitable for all ages along blooming footpaths. Whilst walking along isolated walking tracks through deep rifts and up into the heights of the mountains you will find cows, sheep and horses along your way. An amusing week for the whole family!

• Minimum age 8 years old.
• Requirements: basic fitness, children should be used to walking for a few hours at a time and have a bit of walking experience.
• The walks are mainly across meadows, on forest tracks and good paths. And of course, you get wonderful views of the mountains and Lake Wolfgangsee.
• On this particular walking tour you have the option of bringing your 'four-legged friend'. When booking, simply let us know the breed and size of your dog. Possible additional costs are payable locally on site.

Arrival and departure:

• By train to Salzburg and then by bus (approx. 1 hour) to lake Wolfgangsee. OR: by train to Bad Ischl and approx. 30 minutes to lake Wolfgangsee. Pick up service from the bus stop by the hotel possible.

• Parking:  mostly free hotel car park available, partly public car park, approx. EUR 30 per week. No reservation required.
