This 2-week Spanish language and culture immersion experience is designed for the 50+ age group who would like to spend a sunny two weeks in southern Spain, learning Spanish and getting to know Andalucia. Enjoy relaxed lessons, cultural activities and full day-trips to local cities in order to get a true taste of authentic Spain.
Ronda (Malaga, Spain)
With almost 40,000 citizens, Ronda is the perfect city to learn Spanish. The warmth of the people, the fun and motivated native speaking staff and the extraordinary setting of the city make it the ideal place to become fully immersed in the Spanish culture and really get to know Andalucia and its people.
Surrounded by 'white towns' and beautiful mountains, Ronda is situated in the south of Spain, in the Andalucian province of Malaga. Known worldwide for its deep El Tajo canyon of over 100 metres, the city is divided in two unique areas connected by the city's famous 18th century bridge. In the new part of the city, you will find the main shopping streets, the lively Spanish bars and the more urban areas. The old town, which is much more tranquil, stands out with its beautiful, narrow street, unexpected hidden corners and typical white houses. It is in this part of the city where the Spanish school is located, in a modernised and restored building only a few steps away from the main sites of interest of the city.
Thanks to the Romans, Arabs and Christians, Ronda is home today to important cultural sites, making it one of the most representative Spanish cities in terms o history and culture. Conveniently located, it is only 45 minutes away from the sunny Costa del Sol, and less than 200 kms from Granada and Seville, two emblematic cities in Andalucia.
This program is comprised of 3 hours of classes per day, Monday to Thursday. Lessons follow a total Immersion Language Methodology Approach with engaging and enjoyable student-centred communicative activities to practice the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Our teachers are all native and qualified and our class groups a maximum of 8 people.
Students will combine intensive in-classroom experience with the fun and authentic activities and trips that are put on at the school. All in Spanish, they highlight the linguistic and cultural value of the Spanish language and offer a way to practice your classroom knowledge in a real-world environment. In this way, you don't learn from a book - you learn from people!
Learning is taken outside of the classroom into a real context where you can learn and practice Spanish, in a significant way. We propose an activity every weekday afternoon / evening, with a full-day excursion on the Fridays. The weekends are then free to spend how you wish.
We recommend that students stay with local host families, who are eager to meet and get to know you. Trained families will provide 3 meals a day, allowing you to totally immerse yourself in the Spanish way of life. They will provide transport to where you need to be if necessary and are there to help with anything you may need. Hotel accommodation can be arranged for those who prefer this.
