The waters of Lago Maggiore are sparkling in the sun. Couples roam down the Piazza Grande and palm trees grow on the lake promenade: when staying in Ticino, you could easily forget that you are still in Switzerland. When going on this tour you discover one of the longest swiss valleys and visit Ticinos capital, the medieval city Bellinzona. You get to know many sides of the southernmost Swiss canton: close to the Lago Maggiore the landscape is charming and tender, in the Maggia Valley Ticino is wild and defiant. But no matter how you discover this region: Ticino and its Lago Maggiore will put a spell on you!

Tour Character: Level 1

The tours lead on tarmac and sometimes on gravel roads.. In the city centres of Locarno or Ascona the cycle paths lead through pedestrian areas. Pushing the bicycle might be necessary here. Every day you have to deal with small uphills, but these should be no obstacles even for unexercised guests. An easy tour, even for beginners.

Your Accomodation: 

You will stay in a house with a long history. Over decades this house has developed from a simple hostel to one of the most welcoming hotels in Switzerland. Today the old manor is going to charm you with its authentic interior and spacious rooms. You can relax under palm trees at the hotel pool or at the sandy beach, go for a swim in the nearby river Maggia, use the wellness area with hammam or try your luck on the hotels own golf course.
