  • Day 1

    Avignon

Meet at the Hotel in Avignon. We stay in the walled city of Avignon, close to the Palais des Papes and the Pont d’Avignon. Relax and discover Avignon.

  • Day 2

    Les Beaux de Provence

Visit Les Beaux-de-Provence, a picturesque medieval village at a fortified rocky site with steep cobbled little streets and charming boutiques. After lunch, we enjoy the famous Carrieres de Lumieres, a spectacular audio visual art display on cave walls inside the huge limestone quarry. Stay in Avignon.

  • Day 3

    Pont du Gard

Morning walk and visit le pont d'Avignon. In the afternoon, we explore le Pont du Gard, a true masterpiece of ancient architecture. Built as a three-level aqueduct standing 50 m high, it allowed water to flow across the Gardon river. This is a site not to be missed! Stay in Avignon.

  • Day 4

    St Remy de Provence

Explore St Remy de Provence, where Vincent van Gogh lived for a year. Here he painted masterpieces like The Starry Night. Copies of his works are placed around town. After a magnificent day of sightseeing we head to Gordes, where we stay in a beautiful farmhouse for 1 week.

  • Day 5

    Isle sur la Sorgue

Visit the Sunday market in L'Isle sur la Sorgue, famous for its brocante and antique. This is one of the oldest flea markets and antique fairs in France. Free afternoon at le Moulin de Gordes

  • Day 6

    Gordes - Abbey de Senanque

The 12th-century Sénanque Abbey outside of Gordes is run by a small community of Cistercian monks who fastidiously grow, harvest and process lavender from the surrounding fields. June is the best month to visit as lavender is in full bloom.

  • Day 7

    Menerbes

Another beautiful walled village to explore today, Ménerbes, made famous by British writer Peter Mayle. Mayle’s books about his life in Provence have put Ménerbes on the tourist map.

  • Day 8

  • Day 11

    Cassis

After a delicious breakfast, we say goodbye to our lovely Provence nest and drive to the Riviera. Cassis is like a mini version of Provence and the Mediterranean mixed together. So, lots to do and enjoy.

  • Day 12

    Cassis - Les Calanques

This morning we take you on a cruise on Les Calanques. Cassis is a very old fishing port famous for its cliffs and sheltered water inlets, called Calanques, those are formed about 120 million years ago. Enjoy Cassis from the water.

  • Day 13

    Marseille

Today we leave Cassis and drive to Marseille, our last stop where we stay for the night in a grand hotel in the old harbor. Grit and grandeur coexist seamlessly in Marseille, an exuberantly multicultural port city with a pedigree stretching back to classical Greece and a fair claim to the mantle of France's second city.

  • Day 14

    Marseille - end of Tour

After a delicious breakfast, we leave the Vieux Port and say goodbye to the friends we made during this wonderful tour.
