Naples and Capri 8-day Bike & Boat Tour
This is a journey that will take place both on land and on water, searching the natural treasures and cultural heritage spotted along the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Naples. A cruise on board a ship that has all the style of the ancient caique, a type of boat that is a legend itself, just as it is the sea under your feet. It is not just a matter of watching and observing, but a truly active journey intended to combine navigation and relaxing with cycling along the narrow streets of Capri, Pompeii, Procida, Ischia, and Sorrento.
Guided tour with English and Italian speaking guide. International groups, the official language of the tour is English. Level of difficulty: MEDIUM
The daily stage is between 25 and 35 km and there is all the time to do the bike tour and to cycle with tranquility all through the tour. However, this tour is recommended for people who have a good experience in biking tours. Not suitable for children under 12 years old. Not suitable for beginners. Please expect several ups and downs. Difference in level is between 40 and 700 mt per day. Terrain: country roads on day 2 (Pompei), on day 3 and 4 (Amalfi coast) you will ride on the Coastal road, open to vehicular traffic. There are no bike paths on the Amalfi Coast. On day 5 (Capri) you will walk on paths overlooking the sea. Day 6 (Ischia) the itinerary is on secondary roads or coastal road (open to traffic). On day 7 (Procida and Pozzuoli) you will walk on secondary roads or paths.
5 air-conditioned cabins with private services, shower and WC, hair-dryer. 4 double cabins + 1 twin cabin with separate beds. The boat is a 24 metre long and 6,6 meters wide caique, with a solid structure and finished with precious mahogany wood. The well maintained interiors and external spaces provide charm and extreme comfort as well as comfortable inner spaces, such as the spacious dinette with bar. Guests can also relax on comfortable beach mattresses on the large solarium deck enjoying the sounds of the sea. The back deck is covered and has a table for breakfasts and dinners.

Transfers from Naples airport or train station to the boat or viceversa: 45€ per person, one way. (Transfers have to be booked and paid in advance)
Vegetarian meals are available, but please indicate this at the reservation. An additional charge of 50€ per person will be applied to provide lactose or gluten-free meals. In all other allergy or intolerance cases we will check the possibility of catering for it. In some cases an additional charge may apply.

Embarkation at 18.00 at the Marina di Castellammare di Stabia (NA), accommodation on board, welcome drink, dinner and presentation of the program. Night in the port of Castellammare di Stabia.
Cycle trip to Pompeii (14 km, +/-40 mt.)
Cycle trip to Pompeii and visit of Pompeii and the Villa dei Misteri. It is the biggest open-air archaeological site of the world. Return journey to the Marina di Castellammare and departure with the caique towards Sorrento. Walking visit of the town and return to the boat. Overnight on board at the Marina di Cassano in roadstead or in the port in case of bad weather conditions.
Sorrento – Positano – Amalfi (34 km, +/-700 mt.)
In the morning departure by bike along the Sorrento coast. You cross “Passo San Pietro” (St. Peter’s pass) and you enter in the Amalfi coast, where you will cycle along the wonderful road overlooking the sea up to Positano. After Positano you continue towards Amalfi, the most powerful Mariner Republic at the end of X century. Return to the gulet. You are free for dinner. Overnight in port in Amalfi.
Amalfi – Minori – Vietri – Cetara (27 km, +/-600 mt.) + alternative Ravello (37 km, +/-700 mt.)
From Amalfi you continue your cycle tour along the coast, cycling on the coastal road with some ups and downs overlooking the sea, crossing the villages of Minori, Maiori and Cetara. It is possible to make a deviation and go up towards Ravello. From the village dominating the sea from 300 mt. above sea level, you can enjoy a view beyond the Gulf of Salerno and up to the Cilento mountains. You return on the road along the coast to finally reach Vietri. You come back on board. Dinner and overnight in the small fishing port of Cetara.
Navigation to Capri and disembarkation with the tender in Marina Piccola (Capri). You visit the Island on foot, you reach the village of Capri with its famous “piazzetta” and continue to the Faraglioni. From above the cliff you can enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples dominated by the Vesuvius. In the afternoon embarkation and navigation to Ischia. Overnight in the port of Ischia Casamicciola.
Ischia (18 km, +/-300 mt)
Cycling from Ischia port you will cross by bike the west part of the island among the scents and flavors of the Mediterranean sea, crossing little villages. Once you reach the thermal village of San Angelo, embarkation and overnight in port in Ischia Sant’Angelo.
Procida and Pozzuoli
We sail up to Procida, walking visit of the town and San Michele Abbey. Return to the boat to continue to Pozzuoli, in the bay of Naples. We visit on foot the historical city centre of Pozzuoli with a stop at the Roman Amphitheatre, the third biggest amphitheatre of the roman empire. After the visit, return of foot to the boat. Navigation up to Marina di Castellammare di Stabia (in alternative, we reach Castellammare with public means). Overnight in the Marina of Castellammare di Stabia.
Disembarkation at 9.00 am. End of your trip
The captain and the guide reserve the right to make alterations to the itinerary, depending on wind, sea and weather conditions or organizational requirements. We wish to specify that this is not a sailing trip. The ship is a motor vessel, it has sails but the navigation is powered by engines.
