Holland Frisian Sea classic old ship Sail & Bike Tour (MFF)
A Sail & Bike Tour is perfect for all who like a holiday with various activities but where there is still time to really relax and enjoy yourself in complete comfort. Go cycling and exploring beautiful areas during the day or choose to stay back and lend a hand on deck during sailing and navigating - partake in a real sailing experience on a classic sailing ship! Sailing tours are definitely something very special.
Feel the freedom, the wind and salt on your skin and discover the seas like a modern-day explorer. Come aboard the most luxurious sailing ships and explore the open water of the northern part of Holland’s famous Lake IJsselmeer and out and onward to the Wadden Sea and the adjacent mudflats of the Frisian Sea. You will enjoy the pure nature of the experience - the water, sun and an invigorating sea breeze and also explore a natural area along the coast of the North Sea that is truly unique! It is a world with two faces where sand and water dominate during the changeover from low to high tide and where islands of all sizes line up like pearls on a chain to protect the shoals of the mudflats.
The highlights of the tour are visits to the North Sea islands of Texel and Terschelling and their beautiful natural areas, small villages and long sandy beaches that you can explore by bicycle. The Frisian Islands and the coasts of North-Holland and Friesland are a true “El Dorado” for cyclists.
Do you have a sense of adventure? Then what are you waiting for?

Important observations for the Sail & Bike program:
Adventure is a part of every Sail & Bike program: the departure and arrival day and the location – Enkhuizen – are a certainty, 100%. For the rest, the planned daily sailing routes are partially dependent on the strength and direction of the wind. The captain decides the precise route to be taken day by day, and discusses the options with his onboard guests. The crew does everything in its power to enable the program to run according to plan and to offer you as fascinating, varied and active a week as possible, in which nature and culture play a major part. It is, however, not unthinkable that departure times and the time spent on the water – and even the program itself – may be adjusted during the week. Enjoy the ride and be led by the elements!
Whenever possible, various passages will be undertaken fully rigged and anyone who would like to help us sail and steer the boat is welcome to do so. This is of course absolutely up to you and no sailing experience is necessary.

Island of Texel – Island of Terschelling, sailing day (5 – 6 hrs).

Terschelling. Explore the island by bike (1-40 km / 1-24 miles).
Terschelling offers a lot: nature and culture, 70 km cycling tracks and 4 beautiful villages. West-Terschelling is the largest village on the island with nice shops and pubs. The landmark of the island can already be seen well from a distance, the 400 year old lighthouse “Brandaris”. Also worth seeing is the heath land “Boschplaat”. It captivates with its mud, beaches and dunes. You might even spot a number of ducks, black-winged stilts and large colonies of spoonbills and great black-backed gulls. After a day of cycling relax in comfort back on board your ship.
