Normandy: From the Northern Cotentin coast to mont Saint Michel

Normandy is a region of France famous the world over for its history, culture, and gastronomy. On this trip, you explore the Cotentin coast. An ideal region for walks in very wild landscapes along the coastline and through small granite stone villages in the middle of the pastures. Inland, you feel as if you are travelling through Ireland, with hilly landscapes of green fields, sculpted by low stone walls: a breathtaking scenery of land and sea!

You take the train on your own ( not included) to Pontorson station : then transfer to your accommodation, close to the Mont Saint Michel. You then have a full day to visit the most impressive monument in Normandy, (indeed, in France!): the architectural masterpiece of the 13th century: the "Mont Saint Michel", classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO. 2h00 crossing the bay of Mont Saint Michel with a guide to discover quicksand, a unique experience!

• We recommend walking poles. Our itineraries are more often than not waymarked and on well- defined paths, tracks, and sometimes back country roads. The trails can be rocky; good boots with ankle support & walking poles are highly recommended. You will have to bring enough water with you each day as there are few options to fill up during the walk.
