The barge was built in 1929 as a freighter of type 'luxury motor. In 1993 the ship was converted into a passenger ship. She was renovated and rebuilt during winter 2011/2012. It is a great ship to relax after a bike ride.
Capacity: max. 19 people Cabins: 9 double cabins. All cabins with private bathroom and central heating. Split-level beds. Electricity 220 V
The ship complies with the strict safety regulations laid down by the Dutch Shipping Inspection Authorities. On board you find a cosy dining room, a sun deck to relax after your bike tour. All cabins are provided with hot and cold water, private shower and toilet, 220 voltage and central heating. There is limited storage space in the cabin. We recommend 1 suitcase p.p. You can slide the suitcase under the bed once you have unpacked.
Do not expect a luxury cruise ship. The Bike and Boat Holidays are for people who really enjoy the physical activity of cycling and who value sociability more than wholesale luxury.
The Bavaria Tour is a tour with a lot of historical sites to see, taking cyclists through beautiful national parks. It cannot be rated as an easy tour; every day you will bike small parts of the tour on semi-paved paths, towing paths and asphalted sideroads with some hilly stretches. The tour is more challenging than bike and barge tours in Holland or Belgium.
