Leaving our Saumur accommodation after breakfast, we visit one of the foremost examples of early Renaissance architecture, the chateau of Azay le Rideau in its parkland setting. After a light lunch we are on the way to our Amboise hotel where we settle in before a late afternoon stroll and dinner in a restaurant built into one of the troglodyte caves
Today we explore Amboise on foot, visit Leonardo da Vinci’s chateau museum and discover chateaux of the region in miniature
