Luxury Barge Tour in the Loire Valley

Moulin de Nitray.

Guests are met in Tours and transferred to the barge at Moulin de Nitray where a welcome champagne precedes a dinner on board.

Moulin de Nitray to Larcay.

A morning cruise through two locks takes us to the quaint town of Larcay where we moor under the willows for lunch. In the afternoonwe enjoy an excursion to the Chateau de Villandry, known for its gardens. Dinner on board.

Larcay to Vallet.

After a morning cruise past 6 private chateaux we stop near the small village of Vallet. An excursion to Amboise where we explore the Amboise chateau and Leonardo da Vinci’s chateau du Clos Luce. Dinner on board.

Vallet to Chissay-en-Touraine.

Whilst cruising in the morning we may pull into the tiny landing stage next to the Domaine de Fontenay. A two-minute walk takes us to the courtyard for a wine-tasting before lunch on board. Our afternoon cruise takes us to a stop at Chisseux to explore the Chenonceau chateau before cruising to Chissay-en-Touraine for the night. Dinner at a local restaurant specialising in Loire regional cooking.

Chissay-en-Touraine to Montrichard.

Our morning cruise takes us to the troglodyte village of Bourre where we moor near one of the dwellings, Magnaneraie. . After lunch a drive to Valencay where we visit this splendid chateau, then on to Montrichard for the night. Dinner on board.

Montrichard to Moulin de Nitray.

Following breakfast, a short walk to Montrichard leads us to one of the larger street markets in Touraine, where we also have time to explore the 11th century chateau. Before lunch, a wine-tasting at a local vineyard and afterwards a short cruise to the hamlet of Nitray with time to visit the chateau and rose garden. Enjoy an aperitif before the Captain’s Farewell dinner on board.

Where you will disembark after breakfast and transfer to Tours.
